Saturday & Sunday: 10 am to 5 pm
Kanal Centre Pompidou
Quai des Péniches, 1000 Brussels
As part of the European Research and Innovation Days OPL is coming back to Brussels. This time with a very special addition: The Kunststoffschmiede a DIY recycling station is joining the exhibition. Now you can not only learn about the problem of plastic pollution in the ocean and how science is trying to tackle this challenge, you can get a hands on experience in recycling your own plastic waste. Just bring your own, previously cleaned, plastic waste (yogurt cups work best) recycle it on site and make something new out of it. Come by and visit the exhibition from the 19th until the 30th of September at the Kanal in front of Centre Pompidou.
During the exhibition, side-events will take place on the exhibit site or at other venues. You can find details below in the event section. Organized by us or our local partners, these events will give an overview of the problem of plastic in the ocean as well as other threats the marine environment is facing and how science contributes to understand and combat these problems.
The Ocean Plastics Lab is open for the public and free of charge.
The exhibition provides a barrier-free access.
